Well today hasn't been a very good day. Sick kiddos is never fun. Berklee has a cold, and being the age she is there isn't anything I can do for her.
We had to pick Atleigh up from school today, she has a stomach bug and she's a big ole baby when she's sick. But I don't blame her, so am I :) She has slept all afternoon, we went and got some drinks for her to make her feel better.
And Aidan is feeling better, but still she could have used the rest but her daddy was being a baby about not going to the lake so I sent them two on their way! Since she is feeling better, and these other two are not maybe her being out of the house she wont catch this stomach bug.
Adian did do really great for me today after school though and helped me with some stuff around the house and getting herself packed. Having a sick baby is hard enough, but having another one that has pretty much had to stay in the bathroom is even harder. And then everyone finally went to sleep, so Aidan sat in the living and watched some of her shows and kept to herself so everyone could rest! She's a great helper and sometimes I don't let her know I appreciate it enough and told her today thanks for helping. Because she has really started getting an attitude and not wanting to do anything around the house or help out, and I lose my temper at times. But I have started stopping and realizing what she is doing to help out and letting her know it's helping us all out and we thank her.

30 Days of Excellent in Every Way!

I haven't blogged in over a year. I do most all of my blogging on Facebook like the rest of us I guess. But I have committed myself to doing 30 days excellent in every way. To teach me to appreciate the things my children do more than I show! I have added a link where you can also challenge yourself!

So, I want to invite you to participate with me in 30 Days of Excellent in Every Way in September.

This is what you do, if you want to join me. For the month of September:

1. In your daily prayer time ask God to show you ways in which your kids are excellent. If you are like me, you may have a child that is more difficult than others. This is the child that you need really need to focus on. Pray for that child & ask God to show you how that child is excellent.

2. Keep a journal if you like of what the Lord shows you about your kids. Post it on your blog, if you have a blog visit http://danabailey.blogspot.com/ and you can find the group on facebook or share with her your blog.

3. At least once a day, post an status on facebook(if you are on facebook) about how one of your children was excellent. Don't use their name if you don't want to, especially if they are on face book.

4. Invite your friends. Ask your mom friends to join us. Grab my button if you want to.

5. Use excellent words with your children. Tell them when you catch them doing something wonderful. Compliment them. Build them up with your positive, encouraging words!

Polar Express Ride

Saturday night the 15th we went on the Polar Express Train Ride. To me I'm glad I didn't pay for the tickets. But I also have to look at it, it was there second night and that's why we were there. Kind of like a dress rehearsal...and they needed it. Of course Mark said they waited until Thursday to see if the PA system worked and of course it did not. So they bought these cheapo speakers thinking it would work. You could hear it but only in that part of the train. So the girls couldn't hear the polar express story...not that they were really paying attention anyway. On the ride they handed out hot chocolate, and cookies(hard at that)...then we got to the North Pole (smyer) and picked up Santa and his helpers is what Atleigh calls them. They got on the train and Santa comes around and did take the time to talk to every child on the train and gives them a bell just like in the movie. Aidan was excited, Atleigh was scared!! She said she didn't like him because she couldn't see his mouth. lol So she sat in Mark's lap while Santa talked to her. It was about an hour and 15 min ride, it was worth it for the kids...they loved it and that's what it's all about anyway. But if you have motion sickness problems...better take something before you go!!!

Kansas Trip Oct 2008

Our flight left Lubbock at 6:30 am on Friday morning into Dallas Love Field. We got there, had about an hour layover. Then left Dallas to Kansas City..we left the airport and then went and ate lunch. Mark and the guys went to do the "business" part of the trip and I went and checked us in the Hotel at Olathe,KS and took a nap. They got to the Hotel around 4:30 and we left and went to Downtown Kansas City to the American Royal BBQ. It was sitting on over 200 acres downtown and we walked it all...free drinks and bbq all night. We left around midnight and had to drive about 30 minutes back to the hotel..Had to turn around and get up at 7:30 saturday morning so we could be ready by 8:30 to stop and get breakfast and drive the 2 hours to Manhattan to the TTU game. The game was good, the people were very nice..except the lady that sat below me. Complained the whole time about the game...apparently she's never watched or heard how TTU plays Football! Other than that it was a great time. We left and drove back to Hotel the long 2 hours....got back around 9 p.m. We were going to go and watch miz/nebraska game but we were all to tired. Went up to our rooms because we had to get up early the next morning and drive 45 minutes into Kansas City to the Airport...our flight left around 10:25, we got into dallas and had a layover and the weather was good. But heading into Lubbock we were in "whiteout" the whole time. Couldn't see anything, and they told us it was raining in lubbock. We landed around 1:30 and finally headed home..

FAIR 9-25-08

Dad and I took the girls to the Fair thursday after they got out of school. It was wrist band night...take 3 canned items and you can buy one wrist band and get the next one free. So we got there around 3:30....watched a dog show, walked thru the stock barns....held some baby chicks and ducks, walked thru and saw rabbits(exciting), pet some sheep, cows, horses, lama's and everything else stinky. Then headed to the midway for some rides. At this time of day there were not a whole lot of people yet. So the girls were able to ride most of the rides pretty fast and over and over again. Some of them were a little fast for atleigh so she got scared on a few and so did aidan. Aidan was on one by herself that she just had to ride that took her up in the air..set for a minute and then just drops...the look on her face. And when she got off, she was scared and wouldn't stop shaking and said "I'm never riding that again." They played a few games and got a few stuffed animals..then it was getting close to 6 or so, we decided to head and find something to eat. After we ate went back out and by that time it was 7 and it was CROWDED. A good 15 minute wait to get on the rides. So they did a few of the slides and fun house and we finally left around 7:45. Remind you on a school night, and most nights they have eaten, bathed and are in bed by this time or are getting close to it. They were worn out!!!! But it was great time! I forgot my camera so all of my pictures are on my phone, and my computer wont except my software to transfer so mark is going to transfer them from his phone and once he does I will post some pics....
